About the library
Vadsø bibliotek (Vadsø Library) shares premises with Troms og Finnmark fylkesbibliotek, Øst (the county library) and Scene Nord, in a modern library building in Strandgata. As well as the main library, it has a separate department providing library services at Vadsø prison.
This is more than an ordinary public library — it also houses Finnmarksbiblioteket (the Finnmark Library) and its own Finnish section. As a public library, its job is to promote knowledge, education and cultural activity, and to make books and other media freely available to everyone.
Besides borrowing, you will find meeting rooms and study rooms, newspapers, wifi and a cup of coffee — as well as regular events and performances.
