About Kjeldsenbruket

Kjeldsenbruket is a former fish processing plant with a quay and a shop, built on Ekkerøy in the early 1900s. Ekkerøy was one of several fishing villages along the Varangerfjord where the Pomor trade and fishing shaped the place — 15 kilometres east of Vadsø, with one of the most photographed cultural heritage settings in the municipality.

Today the plant is run by Vadsø museum – Ruija kvenmuseum, with changing exhibitions during the summer season.
